These shoes seem kinda... We'll odd at first but over time I've heard nothing but good Things about them from people who have tried them. I almost never wear shoes if I can avoid it so putting on my cross training shoes for workouts was uncomfortable and annoying. The downside is that without them I would have no traction or padding during mountain climbers on carpet or power knees. Enter Vibrams. I've constantly suffered from shin splints and knee issues while running and as of late I have these pains set in with as little as 1/2 mile run, however, as a test I ran 1.5 miles in the Vibrams and experienced not one shred of discomfort. Long review short, if you're unhappy with your cross training footwear consider Vibrams.
