Can't recommend this piece of equipment enough. If you are considering purchasing one and don't know what weight to buy I suggest doing some of the KB exercises with a dumbell. The moves won't flow as well but it should help determine a comfortable weight for you. A 16kg (35lbs) KB will suit most men to start off. If you want a set that will cover most of your needs buy a 16kg, 24kg, & 32kg (35, 53, & 70 lbs respectively). This initial investment is not manditory by any means as you can get a lot out of a 16kg KB alone. I managed to find an adjustable KB made by US Kettlebells on Craigs List for really cheap. Oddly the bell is made in China but my money stayed in America so what ever. Do you need two KB of the same weight? Not at all. You can do two arm exercises but you will find that most are single KB exercises. The only thing I've found so far that would make having a 2nd KB nice is to have a conditioning (lighter) weight and a strength (heavy) weight. For me this would be a 16kg and a 24kg kettlebell. Keep this in mind, however, if you start off strength training with a heavy weight it will eventually turn into your conditioning weight. There are plenty of great workouts online for Kettlebells so finding new things to do is never a problem. I strongly suggest starting off slow with basic moves before going into something more adventurous. I've posted a KB workout in the programs section of this forum.
